实验室集中诠释中医药在重大疾病中的治疗机制以及开发新型的针对此类重大疾病的创新药物 。目前研究重点集中在中医药在癌症辅助治疗以及新型冠状病毒的预防、治疗药物开发 。实验室具有成熟的生物化学、细胞生物学、结构生物学、动物模型构建等技术手段。近期相关研究成果以第一作者或通讯作者发表APSB(2022、2023), JTCM(2022), Elife (2017), PNAS(2016)等主流学术期刊，国际专利2项。
